The National College for DUI Defense, Inc. (NCDD) is a non-profit, professional corporation devoted to the improvement of the DUI defense bar and to the circulation of information to the public about DUI law as a specific area of practice. Headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, the college is comprised of a governing Board of Regents, a Founding Membership, a Sustaining Membership, and a General Membership.
The most experienced DUI defense attorneys in the country comprise the ranks of the National College of DUI Defenses. The original members funded the college. The College still recognizes in its Sustaining Membership lawyers that maintain the skill and intelligence of the founding members as well as have the generosity to continue to fund the College. General members are the backbone of the NCDD. They are experienced, capable attorneys that spend a considerable amount of their practice on DUI defense across the country.
When it was founded, the founders envisioned a certificate for those that completed the education process. This vision came to fruition in 1999 when the Board created a Board Certification program to recognize those DUI defense attorneys that embodied the values of the NCDD. In 2004, the ABA (American Bar Association) awarded its Certificate of Accreditation to the NCDD making the NCDD the only independent group in the country capable of certifying lawyers as having a DUI defense lawyer specialty area.
The National College of DUI Defenses continues to grow. The area of law which they support is one of the most particular and requires an experienced lawyer like no other.
